Welcome to Wilderness Tonic – a little corner of the internet where I share my love for travel, nature, food, adventures, and all the beautiful chaos that comes along with exploring this incredible world.
I’m Rasika – an adventure seeker, foodie, craft enthusiast, nature lover, occasional hiker, and a language lover who enjoys collecting words, stories, and cultural connections from around the world. If there’s a trail to hike, a hidden gem to discover, a local dish to taste, or a beautiful view to admire, chances are you’ll find me there with my favorite travel companion – my husband, who makes every journey more memorable with his love, laughter, and shared curiosity for the world.
I was born and raised in Mumbai, India, a city that never sleeps and a country that never stops surprising you. Growing up, I was lucky enough to have parents who were happily infected by the travel bug. Thanks to them, many of my childhood memories involve road trips, new places, delicious food, and endless curiosity. Looking back, I think my love for travel was not a choice; it was probably written into my DNA! India, with its incredible mix of cultures, traditions, wildlife, landscapes, art, and architecture, was my first travel playground. From vibrant cities to peaceful mountains, from beaches to historical wonders, I was fortunate to explore many corners of my beautiful country.
In 2015, I married my favorite travel partner (yes, I got lucky! 😉). Thankfully, he shares my love for exploring new places and trying new food, which means our idea of a perfect date is often a scenic drive, a hiking trail, or hunting for the best local food. After marriage, I moved to Connecticut, USA, and started a new chapter of adventures. America quickly became our giant playground. Within the first couple of years, we explored around 20 states, and that was just the beginning!
Through Wilderness Tonic, I want to share my adventures: the perfect trips, the imperfect ones, the “we planned everything” trips, and the “what were we thinking?” adventures, too!
